You NEED to get a new local sim over there or get a postpaid connection which probably cost you much because of the various charges such as roaming for say. you can get instant sim card of any company by giving reference of some jk native with his document and of course, your aadhar card is needed.

Hi, you will have to buy prepaid sim from J&K only or you can have a postpaid connect. MTNL and Airtel postpaid connections works all fine in J&K

Instead of buying a sim there why don't you buy a postpaid BSNL sim your city itself!
