There are many places to choose from. In Himachal you can visit, Mcleodganj and also do triund trek. Bir Billing for paragliding, Manali, Kasol and parvati Valley. Then there is Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur Valley, Chitkul. All of these places have hostels where you can stay at affordable rates. Best for solo travellers. In Uttrakhand start from Rishikesh, Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, Kanatal. Move forward towards Nainital, Mukteshwar, Auli, Chamloli. Try local cuisines, stay in hostels, visit off beat places away from crowd. Go for trekking you will have a lot of options.

Hi Param, travelling solo is the best part and the answer what I am providing is my personal experience. Totally I had 5 days to trip. places covered : Manali, Kasol and trek to Kheerganga Day 1: Reached Manali, rented a bike and rode till Gulmarg and that was the end of the way due to snow fall. you will really enjoy the ride, the mountains, the snow and the cold breeze. You returns from Gulmarg the same day and you spend your evening exploring Manali, you have a famous temple and other view points. Day 2: Go to Solang valley and you can try different activities like skiing, horse riding, snow scooter, ATV and many things. Don't try paragliding here. you will really not enjoy. at evening you can explore Mall road Day 3: Head to Kullu and try the amazing paragliding. This will be your best experience. At the time of flight they will ask you for stunt karna chathe ho. Tell yes and pay for wht they ask. It was extra 500 rs for me. you will be playing with the G force and it will be your day to count. Half day is gone over here. Head straight to Kasol and rest a while and at evening as usual explore Kasol. Day 4: Start your never forgetting Kheerganga trek, u need to catch a bus from Kasol to Barshaini and there starts your trek.It took me 7 to 8 hrs to reach the top. carry light weight bag and the trek is total of 24kms, you should stay there because the best part is you will be witnessing lakhs of stars and the beautiful colors in the sky. Don't miss the hot spring bath at the top. Day 5: Trek down and reach your stay in Kasol, I headed back to Delhi on the same day, as my bus. was booked. If you like it please experience it. Itinerary: 1.Trekking boots will definitely help you. 2.Take few pairs of socks 3.one good jacket and gloves which can withstand 5°C 4.Thermals are required when you reach Kheerganga. 5.Torch/head lamp is required because all stays don't have electricity in Kheerganga. 6.A cap to cover your head and ears. Be careful of landslides and weather changes. Pre check with local guides. All the best!!!!
