The main issue in Kashmir is that you would face communication problems if you're owning a prepaid SIM. it's only postpaid that's working there. Also the Curfew imposed has also badly affected the internet connectivity there.
Its everyplace in this world, which is safe and unsafe at the same time. For kashmir , i have a few travel bloggers who were currently there(solo) seens likes its a go go.
I've heard some bad and good experiences both from my female friends who visited there. Its not at all safe in the evening. And you need to always have a CRPF personnel number handy in case of emergencies. Only they'll help in extreme cases. At some places, locals are very kind and welcoming and at some they're not. I would suggest Gulmarg and the areas around Dal are safe.
Hello, firstly I would love to welcome here in Kashmir. As far as women safety is concerned, I can guarantee you this is safest place you can be at. You will face some issues if you are travelling first time, like the Network , Hotels, Travel and locations to explore , otherwise this is pretty safe. If you need any help, I ll be here always. Peace ✌

Hi Rashid. Hopefully and fingers crossed, you still use this platform. I'm wanting to have a solo trip to Kashmir in August and need suggestions. Possible to have a chat with you? I tried looking for your handle on instagram but couldn't find. In case you still use this message, mine is @nayonabaner
Firstly it is safe for women but the main problem is terrorist attacks, army march etc. The you should connect a guy from Kashmir to know the real situation and explore the place with locals as they can judge the situation better thn us
Its absolutely safe for women, lot of my fellow mates( Women)have gone solo to kashmir. Make sure you pre-book your accommodation or else it'll be a problem. The kashmirs are a gem of people with great hospitality. Takecare
