I think its better to plan your own trip, these tour packages unnecessarily hoard people and rush things. Make a list of places by urself, keep some extra day or two for local sight seeing. Ask the local crowds. Explore at your own pace.

Planning your own definitely saves a lot of money as well as gives you a freedom of exploring on your own terms. However doing yourselves definitely require some time in planning compared to tours which are pre-cooked. There is loads of info available on the internet these days so self planning is not tough anymore

I think it is better to plan your own trip and if ur starting from South u can end in to North and move to Karnataka or Tamilnadu

Kerala is tourist friendly and good to visit so you can plan by yourself and this will give you more flexibility and you would also be able to save some bucks.

Always plan by yourself.. That way when u do it, you'll get to know about places that were not part of the package.. I suggest ti check the package details and then make your own itinerary..

Planning your own trip is always a better idea. it gives you enough information to decided according to your likes. also it motivates you to plan more trips. on the other hand it saves you more.
