Day 1

Winter has knocked the door and its time to enjoy the chill and sun outdoors...
A short weekend trip to Mukutmanipur, West Bengal can give you the experience of jungle,  river and rustic beauty of Bengal.

The place is well connected from Kolkata by train to Bankura or Bishnupur. From there its a two hours drive uphill through the forests. The rows of sal plantation and the sunset view of Kanshabati Dam from a boat is magnificent. Boating in the Kanshai river to deer park, small drive to Jhilimili or just a stroll along the river souvenir shops offers a great weekend retreat. The rugged,  red soil part of Bengal has a beauty of its own.
The blue river,  red soil , yellow and green mustard fields - seems nature has painted the canvas bright.
Best time to visit: Its located in the hills of the plateau region along the river bank.  So summer and winter both are enjoyable,  through people prefer here from Oct - mid-Mar.  Monsoon is not recommended.
Special tips for foodies: Never miss to try the fish of fresh waters of the river.
