Chau dancers are very much famous in Bengal. During the biggest festival i.e. Durga puja in West Bengal, Kash flowers bloom and some rural villages have the rituals of carrying the Durga idol by the Chau dancers during that time the local people dance to the flok music to greet the Goddess. The specific day is the Mahalaya when which occurs in the remote rural village areas of West Bengal nearby Purulia.
