After fulfilling our hunger for food, we went next to Metro Plaza to satisfy our hunger for shopping. Metro plaza is a shopping mall very famous for buying shoes.. There are shops for clothing and bags also but shoes are the best to buy from there. Bargain as much as you can. the maximum you should pay for a shoe is 350. The range starts from 200 to 350. We shopped crazily for flats and heels. Tale 2000 rupees and fulfill your love for shoes and heels.
We reached our next stop, St. Pauls Cathedral. Amazing Architechture, beautiful surrounding and inner peace. It offered all that a soul needs to be peaceful and to fall for worshipping the Almighty. We went inside, thanked God for everything and came back after carefully witnessing the beauty of the church all around inside out.
It was around 2:30pm and we were hungry so we head out for lunch. Our destination for luncheons was Thakkali restaurant.. It serves the best chinese food, according to us. great ambience and greater food, your noon is sorted. Its having an arrangement of dining by sitting on a mat, quite a different expirence. Momos are best if you ever wish to visit here , do not forget to try momos.
Howrah station,one of the busiest and huge station, one of the ways to reach Kolkata, the city of joy. You actually feel joyous when you step down from the train at the station. I took a train from Rourkela and reached Howrah at 6.30 AM. And the city was fully awake. in order to reach you destination, you can choose either OLA,Uber or can take station taxi. For station taxi you have to stand in a queue, which is usually pretty long and lengthy process. If you choose cab option then just cross the road and catch your cab.
I was staying at my friend's place, hence booked OLA and went to my destination, got freshened up and started for an eventful day. since we had only one day, we wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. To begin with, we went for a sumptuous breakfast at Piccadilly Kolkata.
It was 1:00 pm when we finished our shopping. Then we decided to reach our next destination by strolling through the lanes rather than a cab as it was near by, and thank goodness we took the decision we came accross a very beautiful crossover and got stunned by the simplicity and beauty of the place.
And the final destination of the day, a beautiful cafe in Kolkata for the ultimate meal, the dinner.. The cafe closes at 9:00pm sharp, we reache dlittle late , at about 7.45pm. There are various games to play as well as variety of food options to choose from. we ordered many things for us and everything was damn tasty .. Played some games, took lots of pics...
While on our way back we came accross the guest house where the famous Bollywood movie, Kahani was shot...
It was 1:00 pm when we finished our shopping. It was around 4.00pm by the time we finished our lunch and sat for a while to get some rest before we move ahead. Then we took a cab and went to a near by Drunken monkey shop. We had some smoothies, they serve the best smoothies. and played many games as they allow to have some games along with your food. we stayed there for more than an hour and returned back to our room and freshen up for the next destination of our plan...
On the way back we got the chance to check out Hotel Monalisa where the movie Kahani was shot.
The next morning we had our respective departures. It was time to say goodbye to the city full of joy. If you are a food lover, this is the place where you wil find great food in a budget. Until next time...
