Day 5

Today I will introduce you to a hill village "Lepchakha" on the north side of Alipurduar. Traveling Bengalis who have not heard of this name are very rare these days.

Lepchakha is a small but beautiful village situated on the top of Buxa hill near the Indo-Bhutan border. A further 3 km track from Buxa fort will take you to the picturesque village of Lepchakha. This is a wonderful sight. And I think all the adjectives used to describe Lepchakha are fair. From the top, you get a panoramic view of the Buxa Tiger Reserve, the Bhutanese hills and the beautiful surroundings. The village also has a white Buddhist stupa which looks spectacular in the middle of a small village house. Lepchakha is basically a small village of Dukpa inhabitants. At first glance, it looks like you are in a village in Bhutan. Lepchakha was under Bhutanese rule in the past. Later it was annexed to India during the British rule. Buddhists. As soon as you enter the village, a monastery will greet you. At some point in your life, you may think that you have come to a village in Bhutan. At about 3000 feet, the weather here is quite pleasant throughout the year. The villagers are very peaceful and friendly, especially the children. They are quite happy to see people. Many people come to visit Jayanti, Buxafort and many people stay in Lepchakha for a day or two. All the hassle of reaching this place to spend a night in Lepchakha is absolutely worth it. The sunset in Lepchakha is undoubtedly very beautiful.

Lepchakha is becoming very popular among the tourists day by day for its quiet and secluded village. If you have a good fortune, you can see Raj Dhanesh around Lepchakha. The locals are religiously and culturally very conservative. Therefore, puja festivals are held at different times of the year. Om Mani Padme Hum ".

You can visit "Ochlum, Katlung, Rupam Valley" centered on Lepchakha. You can also visit Jayakanti by visiting "Mahakal", a notable Shiva pilgrimage site in Upper Bengal.

Last but not least, the headline made you think you can reach any person at any time. Then it would be a little wrong not to drive after Santalabari (because there is no suitable road for driving). So for those who want to walk 4 km on their own feet and go to their mother's lap full of Maya, Lepchakha is waiting with her beauty doll.

# Homestay accommodation is available for rotation
