Although Sundarbans is known for its mangroves, filled with adventures and wild life adventures. There is a different side of Sundarbans with the villagers living a challenging yet normal life among the deltas.

We started by taking a local train from Dhakuria to Canning. Canning is the nearest station approx 45 km from Sundarban. From Canning there various routes to reach Sundarbans. We took a shuttle auto services to Bara Mollakhali. Then from there you can avail the ferry services to various points in Sundarbans. We took the Ferry to Choto Mollakhali which was almost 2 hours of ferry ride. The picturesque views of the deltas- the forest as well as the villages are mesmerizing and a perfect escape from the busy city life. If you plan to visit the mangroves and explore the wildlife and tiger reserve, a permission in advance is required which will include a guide and a permission from the forest department.

Also people face the issue of getting stuck in the river bodies during the low tides as the river levels drop significantly. People visiting the mangroves without permissions have also faced actions, threats and animal attacks due to lack of proper guidance.

However, since the purpose of our trip was to explore the villages of the delta. we did not cover the jungle safari. Below is the link of a small vlog for my visit. Please do like, share and subscribe.

Safe Travels. Bon Voyage
