The Emerald Wayanad

The caves.. yeah! Stony and slippery.. A small adventurous uphill walk(or rather climb) which will make you almost believe that you cant make it to the top of the cave! The incessant rainfall was discouraging, also a bit foggy which was obfuscating our view. Nevertheless, we marched to the caves highest point. Moving up was tedious while moving down was also enjoyable in a way that we thought we could just roll down the cliff, over the edge and down, down, down.. Shouldn't be a miss!

This waterfall is a 2 kms walk away.. downhill... So reaching would be nice 'n frolic and but returning will be all uphill. The falls was oozing with water brewing a misty cover on it flaunted with greenery all around. If you want you can take bath in it too !Warning: Beware of leeches!

This place.. will come in all of a sudden.. Perhaps you would not realise until the driver has stopped the car and ask you to leap out. Well once you leap out and if you are not fond of terrestrial beings then you'll have to struggle to get a view. Once you get a view, you would know that nothing could be as heavenly as the scenery;you would forget everything else and observe nature's ethereal diversities.

Well if you have less time in hand and want to miss out on a destination or two, this could be one of them. But nevertheless, this place was nice and enjoyable. We took a boat ride and it was fun.

Recommendations galore!!Please be there, take a speed boat ride. This is a place where you must be if you have plans for Wayanad. The reservoir, the lush green hills alongside will be breathtaking. It was too windy and we enjoyed every moment there. Just that we could not take the speed boat ride because we were running short of time. But make sure you don't miss it!

Wayanad is a place worth visiting during the rainy season. It was during my stay in Mysore that my friends and I visited for a night's tour. The tourist spots are generally some 2kms away from parking areas, especially the waterfalls. A reservoir for a dam(Worlds largest earth dam) which is worth a speedboat ride. The weather was pleasant. We were pretty much excited about adventures at Kuruwa National Park but due to huge water flow due to incessant rain for the past couple of weeks it was shut down. A short trekking to the Edakkal caves was tiresome though enjoyable! The road will be steep beyond your imagination. A trip to remember and cherish as well!! Wayanad will be remembered for the exotic greenery and the elephants on the jungle roads!! Also Calicut view point offers a panoramic view.. of hills and floating cloud with awesome greenery!!

Note: If you plan for Wayanad and you have that edge for adventures, then visit Kuruwa. Just be sure to call them up and check whether it is open .During heavy monsoon it is generally closed and yeah! we could not make it to Kuruwa because of that.
