A garden showing never before seen spices in their Natural environment !!!

The chasm ayurvedic and spice garden should be a part of the tour in and around Wayanad. The entry ticket to the place is close to INR 100 per person, and that also includes a tour guide who will guide you across the entire park while narrating about the different types of spices in your preferred choice of language, including Hindi and English.

The entire garden is enormous from the inside. You need to walk quite a bit, but they have a whole series of spice plantations, some of which are rare to see. These include the agarwood tree, Malabar spice, rosemary, cinnamon, curry leaves, and even stevia. The best part was for many of the trees, the tour guide gave us a leaf or some part of the tree to smell, and you could actually understand the underlying spice due to the original smell. To date, we have only had stevia as a 0-calorie sweetener. But it was the first time we could see it. And the guide was kind enough to just give us two leaves to taste. And we were absolutely blown away by how sweet the leaves were. One leaf is enough to actually sweeten a cup of tea.

At one end, there is a bamboo garden. There are also benches to sit under the shade of the bamboo trees and just a small bridge to the river. The place is good enough to click some photos, and many tourists do the same. After the end of the tour, there is a shop that sells natural spices produced within the gardens. Though the spices and tea are slightly expensive, the quality is top-notch.

Thus, overall, the garden is really well maintained. If you are traveling to Wayanad and especially for a family with school-going kids, this can also be a good learning experience. Definitely recommended to visit the place.
