A weekend getaway turned into an adventure followed by spending a night in a treehouse, surrounded by nothing but tranquility.
The journey comprised of a drive through scenic views of hills, open fields for the most part followed the jungle of Wayanad. The jungle included spotting elephants and basking in the nature's beauty.
Funnily enough the place we stayed at is named Tranquil Resort, in Wayanad, Kerala. The drive was 5 hours each side (we drove from Bangalore), thereby allowing us to capture a few moments on the way and back. The resort in itself wasn't the same as those you come across in a city. This one instead is in the arms of nature spread across a 400 acre coffee plantation that is mapped out through multiple different walking routes, ranging from ½ hour to 2 hours, each with a different story to tell. Any of which we obviously could not cover as the trip was not planned in such a way.
Our Stay - Tranquil Tree House : Nestled atop a stunning tree, offering an unbelievable view of the plantation, comforting sound of the stream hopping over the rocks below, the tree house was a much needed relaxing environment. The tree house comprises of a king size bed, a relaxing verandah, and an ensuite bathroom. In addition to this compound also had 5 dogs for us to play and interact with (win for a dog lover) and beautiful finger licking Kerala food. The hosts were very warm and welcoming and helped us with all we needed.
Travel Tip : DONOT carry alcohol with you on your onward journey, you will definitely be stopped and checked at the entrance of Wayanad. This was the "adventure" after the 5 hour drive right before we reached our stay.
