Washington D.C. is famous for its plethora of galleries, museums, and exhibits woven into the city. The Smithsonian Museums are all free of charge, and have created a culture of museum hoppers and art connoisseurs. Being right in the middle of all of these world famous museums, The Hay-Adams is the perfect jumping off point. The hotel also provides rides to all museum locations for guests if the walk is too long for them.

Being the closest museum to The Hay-Adams, the Renwick Gallery is a must see for all hotel guests. The gallery exhibits American art ranging from the Colonial era to modern day. Beginning March 30th, a new exhibit, "No Spectators: The Art of Burning Man" will be put in place. It is set to run through January 2019.

Located on the National Mall, the NMAAHC remains the only national museum that is devoted exclusively to African American history and culture. Having collected more than 36,000 artifacts, this museum is not only inspiring, but educational. Opening in fall of 2016, this is the newest of the Smithsonian museums. Timed Entry Passes (free of charge) are required for visits, and so planning in advance is necessary. The Hay-Adams can attain passes for interested guests upon request.

The Holocaust Museum serves as a national memorial in honor of the millions of people murdered during the Holocaust. Preserving their memory, visitors are encouraged to consider spiritual questions raised by the Holocaust, and to reflect upon their responsibilities as members of a democracy. Tickets (free of charge) are required during the busier times of the year, to keep museum numbers manageable.

The Natural History Museum is a museum dedicated to the natural world and all of its educational opportunities.
