Some places are just beautiful. And then, there are places that have beautiful stories intrinsically attached to them.

Hoi An, definitely is one of that kind.

The Ancient Town of Hoi An has preserved its incredible legacy of tottering Japanese merchant houses, Chinese temples, and ancient tea warehouses – though, of course, residents and rice fields have been gradually replaced by tourist businesses.

Lounge bars, Insta-worthy restaurants, chique cafes, boutique hotels, souvenir stores, and hundreds of tailor shops have taken over this place.

While I swayed my way through the crowd on a Friday evening, the scene changed drastically on a Saturday morning. I found myself walking down the deserted streets, where the shops were yet to open and the residents of the ancient houses sat out to soak in the silence.

Here's a glimpse of Central Vietnam’s most enticingly laid-back scenery.
