Assi Ghat

Varanasi is a cultural capital of India. It has many names Benaras, Kashi or Banaras. It's a city of pandits in wooden sandals, where the incense sticks adds tantalizing aroma to the air and blend with the sound of temple bells. People come here to attain nirvana and die in the hope of breaking out of the cycle of karma and re-birth.

Varanasi's holiest spot. People believe that Lord Brahma created this to welcome Lord Shiva. It is the most spectacular ghat of Varanasi. Priests perform evening prayers here daily.
