Immediately after my breakfast I headed for the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple. On my way to the temple road I saw small neat cozy lassi shop. The lassi made there is hand made without any mixers and grinders. The topping of malai is just like an icing on the cake. Too yummy.. :) I couldn't resist myself and had 2 cups of it.
And then at dinner I had cheezy tomato pizza and tasty garlic bread roll at Downtown Pizza, Assi Ghat, Varanasi.
Satisfied with my first day I am looking forward for my food trail on day 2 with lot of hopes. Without wasting much time I headed straight to sweet shops in Varanasi with a help of a food guide.
Started with the sweet called Malai Gilori. The sweet shop is present at a very small place hiding beneath the tiny streets and behind the old buildings. It is called Rasvanti at Sugga Gali, Thatheri Bazar, Varanasi.
Baati Choka is a meal famous in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. A unique thing about this dish is that it is cooked directly on the coal and the ash is removed by a peculiar process.
At the end of the day had Thandai with Bhaang (desi cannabis). It was an amazing experience after having this. I was literally not in my senses for next 2-3 hours.
Last day of my trip and I wanted to make most of it. I wanted to eat whatever I had missed earlier.
After this I headed to Vaatika Pizzeria at Assi Ghat for the famous Apple Pie. I heard a lot about it. It is said that 25 years ago a italian traveler had taught a banarasi how to make a pie and now he has set up this beautiful riverside restaurant and makes one of the best pies in India.

My trip to Varanasi was for 3 days where I had nothing in my plan. I just wanted to experience the city as it is and food is one part of it. Food in Varanasi has various forms. It has a spicy indian flavour, a heaven for those who has sweet tooth and also provides continental cuisines.
As soon as I landed at airport and checked into my stay I immediately went searching for chat. Without any disappointment I had Palak Patta Chat at Dashashwamedha Ghat
