Thinking what SturmFrei means?
Well, if you're in Goa & want to live the perfect Goa-Hostel-Life, SturmFrei is the place to be at.
What?
Their owner tells me that it means 'STORM-FREE', a word used by party hungry people in Germany which indicates ' Let's party, parents aren't home'
Well, now isn't that a very creative name for a hostel in Goa?
The hostel completely lives up to its name. Staying at SturmFrei was giving me the SturmFrei feeling.
Where? SturmFrei is Located in Vagator. A kick-ass location with beaches at walkable distance.
When? Go anytime. They are always so welcoming & crazy about keeping the Goa-Vibe 24/7.
So when I arrived at the hostel as a volunteer, the first glance of the hostel caught my attention as it looked so creative. I was a bit nervous but so much more excited as I had heard a lot about SturmFrei.
People at SturmFrei were super welcoming, The staff members and also the guests. I honestly couldn't figure out who was staying as a guest & who was working as a volunteer or employee, as all of them were literally chilling together, from hanging around in the common area, sharing meals to partying and cruising around the city.
Now, Wouldn't you want to stay at SturmFrei if you were a solo traveler?
SturmFrei offers a category of rooms from Non-Ac, Ac and also Tent! And guess what????
Free breakfast for people staying in the AC rooms?
Now that's super cool, isn't it?
I was awestruck by the cooking skills of Mong, Anil& Milan. These three humans are such a blessing to the hostel. They make such good food, be it 'DAL-BHAT' or types of Mo:Mo:
The pricing of the menu is very reasonable. Do not worry about food if you're a vegetarian staying at Goa, with a little budget, they have got you covered with the best food in the area. You don't have to stay at the hostel, just come by and order a few dishes from the menu and leave Happy! :)
The owner of the hostel became my buddy in just a few hours, he was driving me around and sipping pomegranate juice with me at the 'VAGATOR JUICE CENTRE' the same day I arrived. Remind me, why was I nervous again?
Let me mention the other two super fun volunteer, Meghan & Diellza, who had arrived all the way from USA & GERMANY. Their enthusiasm and spirit always kept me company at SturmFrei. They were always so excited to help me with my vlogs, and dealing with my re-takes a hundred times. God, they were angels, and the best people to work and wake up late with. Haha!
Coming back to the hostel,
The bar is also super lit. They serve such exotic mocktails and cocktails. You can also be your own bartender & make your own drink. There are not formalities or restrictions at Sturmfrei. Wasn't SturmFrei supposed to mean and be that way, anyway?
