This time I plunged into the kedarkantha trek
of sankari village district Uttarkashi. Treks are usually
sorted into three categories easy moderate and hard.
Kedarkantha trek is considered as a moderate trek until if weather do not turns awful..
Day 1 was from sankari to juda ka talab.
Day 2 was from Juda ka talab to kedarkantha base camp..
And day 3 was the summit day for which we were thrilled,so we slept around 8 pm and woke up at 3 am and started heading at 4 am to not only reach the summit ontime but to witness the sunrise. Around 6 am we reached a tea point, had some tea and were all set for the summit. But after an hour of trekking the weather changed the icy winds started strengthening the trails were vanishing slowly,so many people decided to return back which i feel is absolutely okay as according to guides it was
80% risk to go till the summit. We had a group of 9 people out of nine only 4 decided to go till the summit including the guide. The route was cramped and the icey winds were strong enough to push a person down through the mountain, Although with the help of our guide we somehow made till the summit ridge, but the most arduous part was
to come back down from the same way as the accelerated winds were smacking our faces and hurting our eyes due to which we couldn't see anything. After hours of struggling we reached
back to the tea point then we decided to directly go to sankari instead of staying in juda ka talab( which was our earlier plan) around 5 pm we reached sankari. This was the most prolonged trekking day of my life till now.It was a continuous 13 hours long trek day. But it felt great to reach sankari since the relief of being safe is something we want in the end.
