Hello, this is shivani from lucknow. It's about short trip of uttarkashi, Uttrakhand. I always wished that i have to visit Harsil once in my life. And after that trip I am totally satisfied. Do, i started my journey from lucknow by sleeper bus, bcz there was no direct train to haridwar Or dehradun. I took a bus of Jay vishwanath seva which runs at 6pm from lucknow. Fare was 1200/- . Bus condition was ok but i had no option so it was ok. It took almost 15 hours to reach Haridwar due to fog. After reaching haridwar i was little confused that i will get share cab for uttarkashi from haridwar bus stand. But it was all fake information on google. So if you really planning then don't waste your time . Take a taxi for rishikesh it will charge 50 rupee. From Natraj chowk you will get share cab which will ask you 350/- for uttarkashi. But they start when they get full passenger and it will take 2,3 hours. So i gave him 500/- per person. And we started. We went via tehri. And i can not tell you how much beautiful view was from there. Green water in lake, yellow, green field in ladder shapes, that was very mesmerizing. I enjoyed very much and after 4,5 hours we reached at uttarkashi. And day 1 ended. Bcz I was staying at my friends place , so i have no idea about hotel. But there so ok ok option to stay.
2nd day we started our journey for Nachiketa Tal and chaurangi khal. I will somewhere suggest don't waste your day and money. We booked a cab which charged 1500/- for full day. After travelling 2 hour we reached chaurangi khal. This place is famous for temple. But i must say there is nothing. Then we started trek to Nachiketa Tal. Government charged 10/- per person for visit. After trekking 2,3 hours we reached there. And there was a lake and a temple. Nothing else. But at time of returning view was awesome.
3rd day, we decided to visit Harsil. There was no hotel options so we planned accordingly. We wake up at early and left uttarkashi @9am. Cab driver charged for full day Rs. 3500/- . Anfter spending 2 hours we started enjoy the view of road, Green River water, beautiful mountains, full of snow. And the Garwali song 🎶. In between uttarkashi and Harsil there is a Natural Kind of Hot Water Name is GANGNANI. We took 15,20 stop there and enjoyed Hot water. There is 2 part divided one into men's bath area and second one for women. After gangnani we reached at a bridge which was very beautiful. I always admire that scene since my childhood. We again took 20,30 mint stop there and enjoyed. Then we moved for Harsil and in way we found snow besides road, view was very beautiful. Very much beautiful. Then we reached HARSIL. There was sheet of snow everywhere. We played with snow, make little snowman ☃️ , we did dance also. At mountain water was freeze. I captured every scene in my heart. Weather was very beautiful. Sun was very bright, snow was pure white and the sound of river was making me peaceful. Harsil is famous for Mountain and Apples. We crossed river, which was also freeze. I enjoyed every moment. At time of returning we visit garden of apple . And one more important thing that local people left harsil for March, April bcz of heavy snowfall and no tourist activities. So they close hotel, homestays and move to uttarkashi. So if you are visiting there then plan according bcz there was no option to stay. They just stay there for 1 Jan. I plugged apple from tree and it was so yummy. And we return after spending 3,4 days there.
There is no direct bus or train from uttarkashi to anywhere. So you have to take share cab from taxi stand, which started at 9,10 am. Then they fill full with passenger then move. So it takes time. Next I reached taxi stand at 11 am and after waiting so long I agreed to pay more to get my bus from dehradun which was @6pm.I took a bus from dehradun which was of BABA TRAVEL and I will say bus was clean but it took 6,7 hours more to reach lucknow. I was very fed up with this bus service.but I could not do anything.
In totally I just spent 3500/- for all trip.
So in short to reach harsil, I am giving a easy way to reach. Haridwar-Natraj chowk (rishikesh) - uttarkashi-harsil.
