By Air:
Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the Valley of Flowers's nearest airport. The distance between Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun and Valley of Flowers, Uttarakhand, is approximately 284km. You can hire a taxi from Dehradun to Chamoli or take a bus.
By Road:
If you are planning to visit the Valley of Flowers anytime soon, then the valley is well connected with the cities like Rishikesh, Haridwar, and many others. Thus, you can take a bus from any of these cities to reach Valley of Flowers. The nearest bus stand to the Valley of Flowers is Govindghat which is well connected with Rishikesh and Haridwar.
By Train:
The Valley of Flowers is located approximately 272 kilometres away from the nearest railway station, which is Rishikesh. Regular buses and taxis are available from Rishikesh to the Valley of Flowers.
Best Time To Visit Valley of Flowers
The ideal time to witness the blooming of the Valley of Flowers is from mid-June to mid-August. The Valley is only accessible to tourists for three months, from June or July through September or October. In June, the snow begins to melt, and flowers start to bloom. Certain flower species have a limited blooming period. You can observe flowers in the Valley from July to August, with the peak season being the first week of September.
During September, the flower-bedded valley may not be visible, but you can still witness the lush green meadows. The valley possesses its unique charm and beauty, even in the absence of the flower. Due to heavy snowfall, the Valley of Flowers is closed for approximately 8 to 9 months during winter.
