We pass through Ukimath and a small hamlet Baniyakund from where the meadow line for Chopta Valley begins.
Chopta (located at 8556 ft) in the Garhwal Himalayas is the epicentre of Panchkedar (five mostsacred Shiva temples). On its left are Kedarnath and Madmaheshwar shrines, on the right are Rudranath and Kalpeshwar, and just above it, Tungnath.
Reached the base camp welcomed by heavenly snowfall.
The powder snow looked like a huge mattress covering the complete valley.
Waking-up to watch the crimson rays of sun kissing the snow-laden Himalayas was so peaceful. Best sunrise with a cup of coffee!
