Trip to Corbett Vanvaas Resort, Uttarakhand: A Mixed Bag of Experiences
Our recent trip to Corbett Vanvaas Resort, nestled in the serene landscapes of Uttarakhand, was a blend of charm and shortcomings. Located approximately 20 km away from the main Ramgarh town (where the safari takes place), this quaint little resort offers an escape for those who wish to enjoy nature without being too close to the hustle and bustle of safari activity.
🏡The Stay
The resort’s highlight is undoubtedly its beautiful and classic rooms. Each room boasts an aesthetically pleasing design with spacious layouts and elegant touches. For those seeking a bit more luxury, the private pool rooms stand out, providing a perfect spot for relaxation and a sense of exclusivity. The property itself is small but charming, with every corner designed to grab attention through its thoughtful architecture and decor.
💰Cost and Package
Our 2-day stay cost us ₹27,000, which included all three meals, high tea, and an evening bonfire with live music. While the meals and activities added to the experience, we felt the service and food variety could have been better for the price.
🎶Experience & Amenities
One of the most memorable parts of our stay was the bonfire evening with live music. The artist was truly talented and created a delightful atmosphere, blending soulful tunes with the warm glow of the fire. It was a cozy and heartwarming experience, adding a special touch to our trip.
However, the resort, being compact in size, lacked the calm and peaceful environment we were hoping for. It could get crowded, especially when other guests were around, which might not be ideal for those seeking solitude.
⭐👉What Could Be Better?👈⭐
While our personal experience was decent, we noticed several areas where the resort fell short:
👉Hospitality: The staff was polite, but their lack of attentiveness and care was disappointing. It seemed like guest satisfaction wasn’t a priority, and some guests were visibly upset over delays or poor service. Unfortunately, the management didn’t seem to take these concerns seriously.
👉Food Options: The food was decent but lacked variety. For a property of this caliber, we expected more diverse and flavorful choices.
👉Common Areas: The common garden area was being used for a private party by the hosts, which made it feel less inclusive for other guests. Moreover, drinking was allowed in the common garden area, which made many guests, including families with children, uncomfortable. This is something that should be addressed to create a more family-friendly environment.
⛰️The Scenic View
The location is scenic, offering a refreshing backdrop of Uttarakhand’s natural beauty, though it isn’t a view that takes your breath away.
⭐👉Final Thoughts👈⭐
Corbett Vanvaas Resort is a good one-time experience, especially for those who prioritize aesthetic rooms, private pools, and engaging evenings like the bonfire with live music. However, there is definite room for improvement in hospitality, guest satisfaction, food variety, and policies for common areas.
The resort’s management should focus on creating a more inclusive and family-friendly atmosphere, particularly by restricting activities like drinking in shared spaces. If you’re okay with a livelier atmosphere and don’t mind some hiccups in service, this resort could be a decent choice for a short getaway.
Would we go back? Maybe, but only after hearing about significant improvements in customer satisfaction, hospitality, and family-friendly policies.
