The “Char Dham” are the four Himalayan shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri in Uttarakhand's Garhwal region and is a bucket lister for many Indians. Every year devotees flock to check off the Cham Dham journey of a lifetime.

According to reports, the Char Dham yatra began on Saturday with the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples opening in Uttarkashi. Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami performed a puja at the opening of the Char Dham yatra at the Gangotri temple that will welcome the devotees after its six-month-long shutdown. Over 10 lakhs have already registered, and the number is rising, according to reports.

What pilgrims can expect:

According to sources, the state government has made all arrangements at full capacity to allow a hassle-free and smooth pilgrimage.

They have withdrawn the limit on the number of pilgrims which is very good news to the Indians who can plan their journey year around and with ease.

Reports confirmed Kedarnath would open on the 25th of April following Badrinath on the 27th of April, 2023.
