A spiritual journey is a very individual and intimate quest to consciously deepen your insight about life. To get these experience I decided to go a trip to Rishikesh and Kedarnath which was the best trip of my life so far. I was fortunate that I was not alone as I was accompanied by my friend in this journey.
I embarked my journey from Delhi as I took bus from Delhi to rishikesh and I reached rishikesh at evening . I booked a dorm in zostel to stay at that night. After refreshing ourselves we went to Laxman jhula at night . The view of the bridge because of lightings was beautiful and we experienced cold heavy breeze as we walked on bridge. After roaming near Laxman jhula we took rest.
Next day morning we had our breakfast and decided to do river rafting. The price for 13 kms of river rafting was ₹550. I was very excited to go for river rafting as it was my first river rafting experience and that too in river ganga. At first when I set foot on river I was little bit shocked as water was very cold. After receiving instructions from instructor we started river rafting and it was one of the best moments of my life. The rapids was amazing and I felt adrenaline rush in my body and I did cliff jumping thrice. I was so nervous to cliff jumping as I don't know to swim but somehow I made it and it was an amazing experience. After completing river rafting we roamed around rishikesh and visited neelkanth mahadev temple.
Early morning we took bus from rishikesh to kedarnath. I booked a room in ukhimath which is near to kedarnath. We reached ukhimath at evening. The journey from rishikesh to ukhimath was very unpleasant as road construction was still going on. We roamed around ukhimath at that day.
Early morning we departed from ukhimath and reached gaurikund at morning 9:30am. We started trekking to kedarnath and as we started walking there was this beautiful river called mandakini . Please do ensure to get a stick from shop in Gaurikund as it will be helpfull in this long trek. The path to kedarnath was very steep and we took rest for many times. We drank shikanji many times to rehydrate ourselves . The trail was filled with beautiful mountains, rivers and small water falls. We reached kedarnath at evening 4:30pm. It took us nearly 7 hours for us to complete the trekking. We booked a room by the side of temple which cost us ₹250 per person for a day. As soon as we reached kedarnath and took darshan of mahadev all the tiredness in our body was gone. The temple was stunning beautiful and view behind temple was incredible.
Early morning we went to temple and participated in morning aarti and we returned back to gaurikund. It took us nearly five hours from kedarnath to gaurikund. I cherished all the moments in my trip and experienced the reality of life and purpose of my life on my way back from the spiritual trip.
