Refresh and Raft at Rishikesh!
Adventure, fun and spiritual serenity- Rishikesh is a wholesome place. Goes without saying that Rafting is the hero for all the tourists, however i beg to differ. White sands are the most amazing thing in Rishikesh. I stayed in Rishilesh for a day and then headed to a beach camp after rafting. The city has an aura of spirituality. I attended the famous aarti of the Parmarth Ashram and it was totally worth it. Little shops selling ayurvedic oils, yoga mats and om tees are plenty in the local market. Ram Jhulla is a must visit. You need to cross it to reach Parmarth Ashra. The sheer gravity of the water is spell binding. Rishikesh also has many eateries that has awesome isareli and french cuisines. The German Bakery however is average.
Rafting - You cannot afford to miss rafting at Rishikesh. It simply is super duper fun. Rapids are scary while rafting, but they add to the fun and rush of the whole adventure. After the rafting, you can finally head to the beach camps. In addition to the Shivpuri camps, now there are many more towards Byasi. It is suggested that you stay at the beach camps at Byasi since they are cleaner and not at all crowded. Ideal to soak in the amazing view of the Ganges, white sands and the mountains. It's difficult to describe the beauty of the white sands camps. Imagine the sound of the Ganges flowing against the pebbles, green mountains and pristine sand - that's all you need to have your own personal heaven. Rishikesh is this for me!
