Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. The river is considered holy, and the city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual studies) line the eastern bank around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town.

Situated in the Himalayan foothills beside the holy river Ganga, the beauty of Rishikesh has been embraced by all the travellers. It has gained popularity for studying yoga and meditation. Also, the temples and ashrams are centres for spiritual studies. In the last few years, this place has also developed as the hub of adventure sports in India. River Rafting in Rishikesh has emerged as the most popular adventure, apart from that there are multitude options including Bungee Jumping, Flying Fox, Mountain Biking, etc.

Places to Visit in Rishikesh:

Day 1

1) Laxman Jhula- Laxman Jhula is a popular hanging bridge situated 70 feet above the River Ganga and 450 feet long. The bridge connects two villages, Tapovan and Jonk, crossing the river from west to east. The construction of various grand temples around the Jhula has made it one of the most visited places in Rishikesh.

Day 2

2) White Water Rafting- Rishikesh is the first place to strike mind when we think of white water rafting. Rafting here is fun and adventurous with rapids of 3+ level.

3) Triveni Ghat- Triveni Ghat is a confluence of three holy significant rivers of India. The Ganges, the Yamuna, and the Saraswathi. It is one of the most revered sacred bathing spots in Rishikesh, situated on the banks of the Ganges river.
