As pollution levels are dipping in the wake of Covid-19 induced lockdown, the small town of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh was in for a rather pleasant surprise as the residents woke up to the stunning view of the mighty Himalayas from their home.
After some heavy showers, due to Cyclone Tauktae, the people of Saharanpur could witness the snow-capped mountain range, which is about 200 km away in Uttarakhand.
“Around sunset time, the Gangotri, Yamunotri and Banderpunch range of Himalayas were illuminated and were visible clearly. Last year too, this range of mountains was visible from here in April. It was a delight to see the Himalayas from Saharanpur,” Dushyant Kumar, a government employee, told ANI.
