Arriving from Havelock in the early morning hours, Neil Island greeted us with its tranquil streets and coconut-lined paths. While attempting to rent a scooter, we realized the importance of pre-booking due to limited availability. As we journeyed towards Sitapur Beach, the rustic charm of the island unfolded before us, reminiscent of scenes from classic movies.
Sitapur Beach, adorned with eco-friendly cottages amidst mango groves, captured our hearts. The island, spanning from Sitapur to Laxmanpur Beach, beckoned us to explore its quaint lanes, where bicycles served as the preferred mode of transportation.
What to Experience in Neil Island:
Exploration on Wheels: Rent a scooter or bicycle in advance to meander through Neil's narrow streets adorned with coconut trees and rustic huts.
Sunrise Splendor: Witness the breathtaking sunrise at Sitapur Beach, where the sky is painted in hues of pink and orange, casting a spellbinding aura.
Saree Swirls: Capture timeless moments dressed in traditional attire against the backdrop of serene beaches, capturing the essence of Neil's tranquility.
Sunset Serenity: Experience the ethereal sunset at Laxmanpur Beach, away from the crowds, amidst mangrove-lined shores and azure waters. The sunset at Laxmanpur Beach transported us to another realm. On one side, towering mangroves created an unmatched scale, while on the other side, the deep blues of the sea stretched endlessly. As the sun shone brightly, we found shelter among the trees. However, as it descended, the landscape transformed into something otherworldly. It felt as if we were witnessing a scene from a distant moon, with stones and trees painting a surreal picture. (look how the landscapes and the views changes as the sun sets)
Nostalgic Strolls: Wander through Neil's central vegetable market, offering a glimpse into the island's simplistic charm reminiscent of the 90s. We paused amidst the streets lined with coconut trees to capture the essence of the moment.
Culinary Delights: Indulge in delectable treats at the quaint bakery near the vegetable market, savoring pudding cakes and savory pateez before heading to the beach.
Natural Wonders: Explore the natural bridge post-sunrise, where low tides unveil mesmerizing coral pools teeming with marine life, sans the need for guides.
The Natural Bridge stands as another marvel of nature, offering insights into its history and creation. The ebb and flow of the tides reveal the existence of these mesmerizing pools of water holding vast marine life beneath.
