Mana is a village in the district Chamoli of state Uttarakhand. This village is located at an altitude of 3200 meters (10,500fit). The village is present near the religious site of Badrinath and is famous as Last Village of India. The village has the distinction of being the last settlement on the road to the country of Tibet. It is situated at a height of around 3219 meters. Being just 3kms away from Badrinath, this village is attraction point for the pilgrims travelling to Badrinath.
People in Mana stay is village for 6 months only. The best time to visit this place is between May-November. Winters in Mana is difficult to survive as the village is mostly covered in snow in winters. People of Mana migrate to less altitude areas in November around the closing of Badrinath shrine as the winters are difficult to survive. People of this village lock their houses and shops and move to their houses in less altitude areas.
Visiting Mana is very adventurous as you will get to see the lives of people of village which is called a Last village of India. On the bank of Saraswati river you will find many small snack shops by name "Hindustan ki Aakhiri Dukan". Travellers click their photographs with these shops.
In case you are visiting Badrinath, do visit Last village of India for multiple experiences. You can easily reach Mana by bike or car. You must trek for 1-2km to reach at the Last shop of Hindustan but its worth the trek.
