Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva. The temple is located in the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river in Uttarakhand, India.

Kedarnath is one among the Hindu Char Dham Yatra (pilgrimage) temple sites. Called the Shiv-Lok on Earth (Prithvi) this Jyotirlinga is considered the most important among the 12 revered Jyotirlingam sites across India.

Due to extreme weather conditions, the Kedarnath temple takes a six-month winter break that begins from Diwali time festival of Bhai Dooj and is reopened to devotees after the Akshaya Tritiya festival in late April or early May.

How to reach there:

There is no direct transport mode connectivity between New Delhi to Kedarnath. The cheapest way to reach from New Delhi to Kedarnath is bus/train to Haridwar, then from Haridwar there are many local buses running on the regular basis to Sonprayag from Haridwar bus stand and takes 8-9hrs.

Bus/Train Fare From Delhi to Haridwar : 400-1000/- Per Seat.

Bus Fare From Haridwar to Sonprayag : 600-700/- Per Seat.

Where to stay:

First you have to take one night stay in Sonprayag/Gaurikund or wherever you reach on the first day of your travel. Stay there for a night and start your Yatra next day from GAURIKUND only.

It's a 16kms trek, Kedarnath has the lengthiest trek. It takes around 7-8hrs to reach the temple.

Take one night stay at the Kedarnath Valley, Visit the Holy temple, Seek Pooja and Aarti. also don't forget to visit the "Bhairav Temple", Kedarnath.
