Way to Sankri... Uttarkashi
Himalayan Hikers team picked us from Dehradun Railway Station @6:30 a.m for Sankri.
Sankri, a small village located 200km away from Dehradun. This route passes through Mussoorie, Naugaon, Purola , Mori , Netwar and then our base.
Sankri in Govind Pashu National Park.. This place serves as Base for many Trek.
Reached there by 3 p.m and after having some snacks, we went for evening walk.
The view of pine and oak forest and snow covered mountain is amazing..
Juda ka talab (2700mt) our 1st campsite ⛺️
Juda ka talab is located 4km away from Sankri. We took nearly 7 hours to complete that distance ..
This beautiful snow trail passes through the woods with tall , old and beautiful pine forest which is mesmerising...❄️❄️⛄️☃️
Kedarkantha Base Camp (3400mt) is an altitude of 11,154 feet.
We started by 9:30 a.m from Juda Ka Talab and reached there within 3 hrs.
This view was beautiful and we can see the peak from there.. It was amazing..
Prediction of snowfall was there and it started around 4 p.m..
The first snowfall of my life.. it was a magical event.
Temperature went down.. around 5 p.m it was -19 degree Celsius.
Snowfall continued... we had a question.. Is it possible to make it tomorrow for summit????
Due to heavy snowfall, we could not make it....
Though snowfall stopped for half an hour in midnight and we thought we can...we will..
But we did not.. After half an hour again it started
It was time for Sankri.. No stay in Hargaon( 2700mt)..
We started at 7 a.m for Sankri and wore the Panchu and started walking in Snowfall..
Though we couldn’t complete the summit but walking through this full snow covered place was something different...
It was time for Dehradun...
Last two days, all of us were eagerly waiting for JCB...
Finally it’s 2:30 p.m and we can see the JCB was coming to us
Hurrah... Finally we can go back to our normal life..
All of us happy.. but somewhere deep down in my mind I was feeling bad, as the trip was going to end
We started by 4:30 p.m from Sankri and reached Dehradun by midnight..
My journey did not stop there
It was time for another trip in Devbhumi..
