Started the journey Dehradun bus stop early morning by Uttarakhand Govt bus and it took almost 8 hours to reach Sankari Village in the evening. It was different kind of evening that i usually see in cities the perfect sunset I must say.
The moment i get off from the bus and search for perfect point to sit and watch this sunset. i had no clue where i need to go because i have not booked the hotel or homestay but travelling is what that happen to you.
When i was searching for homestay and just walking on the road to nowhere , that's where i met when with really Sobhat Singh who run hote stay in his house and went with him to his house. It was really nice stay with locals and enjoy local food and know more their culture.
After delicious dinner we spent night there and prepared for early morning trek to Kedarkantha Peak.
Juda ka Talab is a small high altitude lake between Sankri and Kedarkantha trek summit which is located at 9,100 ft above sea level. This lake is a mesmerizing site that offers scenic Himalayan landscapes. This is a beautiful camping spot for all the trekkers and usually a place to camp overnight. that's where we stay for night.
Headed towards next stop Kedarkantha base camp next morning after breakfast.
Reached to Kedarkantha base camp which is on 11250 ft from sea level around 2 PM in evening and after having lunch there and went for small trek near campsite and stay there for night.
After nice breakfast started our trek to next stop frozen Joda ka Talab.
Started early morning trek trek to kedarkantha summit to watch first sunrise of 2019.
So we had early morning breakfast around 3 am in the morning and left the camps for trekking. this was my first experience to watch sunrise and for that we had to trek in morning but it was phenomenal .
Reached to Kedarkantha summit before sunrise and watch that magical sunrise of year 2019.
Peaks visible from Kedarkantha Peak (12,500 ft)
You will see four peaks Swargarohini I, II, III and IV that is one of the most attention-grabbing peak in Uttrakhand, apart from that there are other peak also visible from kedarkantha peak like Kalanag, Bandarpoonch, Gangotri, Yamunotri mountain ranges, Rupin range and Har Ki Dun valley range from the top.
