If you were waiting for a reason to visit Uttarakhand, here’s one…GET PAID TO VISIT THE STATE. Yes, that's true and we're as surprised as you are! The Uttarakhand government has announced that tourists visiting the hill state will be given a Rs. 1000 discount or a 25% reduction in their accommodation charges, whichever is lower. The scheme will be available on hotels and homestay accommodation in the state.
How to avail
When the scheme opens, you will have to generate a coupon by registering on Dehradun Smart City Portal by logging in at Dehradun Smart City Portal. An ID will be generated that you need to present at the hotel where you will be staying and it will be deducted from your total bill, voila!
Terms and conditions you need to know
1. Your minimum stay in the state has be of 3 days to avail the benefit
2. The accommodation will have to be in one of the Uttarakhand Tourism registered hotels
3. Total of Rs. 1000 or 25% discount can be availed on per room basis for the period of entire stay
When will it be available
The government has already finalised details of the scheme and is expecting to launch it around the 3rd week of September. As of now there is no time limit for the scheme, but according to our information, it may initially be launched for a period of 3 months.
Do you need an E-pass/COVID-19 negative certificate to enter Uttarakhand?
Uttarakhand government has lifted restrictions on interstate movement and no permission or E-pass is required to enter the state. However, inbound person will have to register on Dehradun Smart City Portal which will be checked at the border check post. You will also need a COVID-19 negative certificate not older than 96 hours at the time of entry.
