THE HIKE TO GEHNA
🔺A picturesque and an Instagram-worthy location, is how we would like to call The Birdcage, our stay in Mukteshwar.
🔺The motto was to unwind, chill, and enjoy the sunrise and sunset watching the panaromic view of mighty Nanda Devi and other mountains of the Himalayas!
🔺Mukteshwar is a small village tourist destination situated high in the Kumaon Hills of the Nainital district in Uttarakhand.
🔺Some popular activities that you could do is Trekking, Camping, Paragliding, visit the temple, and attractions.
🔺When we were researching about our stay at The Birdcage, we were aware about the small activities that they offered – mountain biking, hiking, driving to the nearby Ivri forest.
🔺We chose to do a small hike to the nearby Gehna village. A 3-hour hike that takes you through the thick oak forests and allows you to explore the beautiful Kumaon countryside.
🔺While you hike, you also get to familiarize with the Kumaon culture through the people in the villages.
🔺We visited Mukteshwar in mid-February and experienced frozen trails covered through the snow that fell a week before our visit.
🔺It was a beautiful experience, something that you must try if you are in Mukteshwar.
