The trip I am going to talk about can be done over a weekend and is very pocket friendly. This trip is one of the best getaways one can possibly have for who is restricted by time.
The place I am talking about is GEORGE EVEREST PEAK. This place is one of the best getaways like I said if someone loves Himalayas. The place is about 2hrs from Dehradun which is again a very beautiful place to be. This place is generally covered with snow if gone during winters.
Now I am going to talk about what all I did. I'm this trip.
We began on this trip in the noon. We halted at a place in Dehradun from where we rented our shelter for the night that is a tent. We also rented 3 sleeping bags and a few more tools we reckoned would be needed to set it up. (For all those who want to plan a similar trip the place is in the industrial area beside Cliff Climber store) we packed a few things, got ourselves booze ;) and left for this beautiful journey.
On our way to Mussoorie we also halted at various momo points because it's one thing Dehradun is famous for.
We reached at 1630 hrs and then parked the car and started climbing the hill. The peak has a path wide enough for vehicles but vehicles are forbidden further 1km away from the peak.
After having negotiated the height the view was just out of the world. You realise the altitude after seeing eagles flying at the same horizon. The view was splendid and the sunset was even more beautiful!!
At night we had little problem setting up tent and all but made it work somehow. We had set up a bonfire and played slow Ritwiz and Prateek kuhad songs. The sky was as beautiful as it could be. We drank whiskey and shook a leg for good 30 mins. At around 2:30 we started having food that we got packed from Dehradun. We could manage to warm the rotis on a foil sheet with the still hot ashes giving us whatever the last few minutes of warmth it could. After that 30 mins more of chit chat and then we slept off to whistling wind that was blowing at that height.
In morning we woke up with another sublime view with sun rising behind another snow-capped mountain. We woke up at 8:30 am, soaked this beauty by our bare eyes and then started to pack our things as it gets hotter as sun reaches over your head.
We did packing in another 30 mins and then left for our car.
We managed to reach deharadun by 1200 hrs.
This was indeed a very short trip but like someone once said 'you don't beautiful memories in a long time, you make long lasting memories of a beautiful time'.
