Gem in dense forest

Jageshwar temple or Jageshwar dham is a group of Hindu dieties temple. It is located in between the Himalayan ranges in the state of Uttarakhand. It is 25-30 kms ahead of Almora town.

There are 125 shrines within a single temple out of which 108 are Shivlings. The history of these shivlings are unstated as from where they originated but there are different myths and stories. Stating three such myths:
1) It was the Pandavas who first came here.
2) It was Luv-Kush (sons of Lord Rama) who came here first for Yajna (यज्ञ)
3) This place has also been visited by Ravana

It is also a well known location for shooting movies. One of those film is a Bollywood movie Vivaah.

Surrounded by the Deodar trees and serenity, there lies many myths and facts behind this temple.
