unMunsiyari at 2298m lies in Pithoragarh District of Western Himalayas in Uttrakhand bordering Tibet. The region is a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers. There are no metalled or any motorable roads beyond. It lies at the foothills of glaciers such as Milan, Ralam, and Nanda Devi peak, which is visible in all its majesty from here. It is starting point for various treks to places mentioned. It is fast developing into a center for winter sports. Our group reached there from Kathgodam via Kausani after a halt at Birth due to force measure (vehicle problem). One should go up to the Khaliya Top (9km one way and 1000 ft) for better view of surrounding peaks as our enterprising member Kunal did starting at 4 am.
