Mussoorie, located near Delhi, is renowned as a highly sought-after tourist destination that can be explored within a span of just two days. Nevertheless, I have a preference for accommodations situated away from bustling areas, allowing me to immerse myself in the serenity of nature. Therefore, during my visit to Mussoorie, I made the decision to stay in Landour and reserved a room at the resort called 'The Highlands: Tree of Life'. The experience of my stay there proved to be truly enchanting and captivating. This hotel offers a respite from the busy areas, granting guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the breathtaking vistas of mountains and valleys. With traffic-free roads inviting leisurely walks, and cozy sitting areas perfectly positioned for tranquil contemplation, The Highlands is a perfect retreat where nature's beauty takes center stage.

The staff at the property were incredibly friendly and provided outstanding hospitality. We arrived at the property on a foggy and drenched morning at 6.30am. We requested for an early check-in and they made all the arrangements to provide us a room at the earliest. We had booked two rooms and since we were checking in very early, they could provide us with only one room at that time. However, in about an hour or so they made the other room ready as well.
As we approached the gate, it resembled a picturesque scene straight out of a fairytale book. The charming slanting roofs, adorned with flower pots, added a touch of whimsy to the front. Surrounding us were glistening valleys, their beauty enhanced by the enveloping fog, creating a mesmerizing sight akin to a postcard.
Even the dining area was strategically positioned to offer guests a delightful combination of delectable cuisine and mesmerizing mountain scenery. We were fortunate enough to witness a rainbow during breakfast, a truly enchanting sight from the dining area.
The Rooms:
The rooms were luxurious with all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. There were room heaters as well which provided us immediate respite from the biting cold and rain that we experienced while coming from the bus stand to the resort.
The management of the resort demonstrated their commitment to environmental consciousness by implementing several eco-friendly practices. One notable initiative was the replacement of plastic bottles with metal bottles for providing clean drinking water. Additionally, they employed various other measures to minimize plastic usage throughout the resort. Guests were also provided with instructions on water conservation, encouraging them to contribute to sustainable practices during their stay.
The scenery from our room was absolutely awe-inspiring! We were treated to uninterrupted vistas of lush hills and vibrant valleys as soon as we opened the door of our room. The resort thoughtfully provided outdoor seating areas, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the breathtaking views.
Food:
The food was really delicious. The complimentary breakfast option was pretty good with a good array of items to choose from North Indian, South Indian and continental cuisines. There were fruits, juices, milkshakes, tea and coffee, dosa, poha, puri sabzi, scrambled eggs etc and everything was delicious. The Menu for dinner was also good and had some really tasty chicken and rotis.
