For me finding a beautiful offbeat place is much better than finding a bag full of money. " That's just for a impression, who doesn't want a bag full of money? 😁" jokes apart.
I am a proud citizen of Dehradun and feel so lucky to live in a valley where you can get several options to explore. From some time I have been looking for offbeat places nearby, as I am a keen explorer, there is nothing much left for me to explore more. Being Stuck home for 3-4 months during lockdown, the urge to travel has gine wild, and it's true that those four months hit us hard on our pockets. That means no more option to travel to distant destinations. As I told you I was looking for a place to explore, something new that too under 100 km radius from the city. I've been googling it a lot that now travel agents and PPC ads started targeting me for their business. After some research I found a name Moriyana Top (which is also called Tingling point) which is approximately 78 km in distance from Dehradun and one could easily make a day trip back.
Moriyana top is a place where you can observe the beauty of Himalayas, as the second highest himalayan peak can be seen from there "Nanda Devi Peak"Elevation: 7,816 m above the sea level. You can also trek to famous Surkunda Devi Temple from there.
It is also called Tingling point, named after a Kenyan adventurer Sardar Pinder Singh Bagra who felt this tingling'sensation as he came over to this breathtaking spot, which revealed such a spectacular view of the Bundarpunch massif (6316mtrs) and the Great Himalayan ranges. Inspite of having grown up in these hills this awesome Spot Gave him a nervous
reaction unlike he had ever experienced in his life.

How to reach Moriyana Top
Moriyana top is approximately 78 Km from Dehradun, and one can easily make a one day visit to this place.
I am a true motorcycle enthusiast and love to ride motorcycles. I picked up my motorbike and left for moriana place at around 10 in the winter morning.
The rout we took was
Dehradun - Rajpur - dhanaulti road - Suwakoli - thature Road - Chinyalisour road - Moriyana Top and back via same rout .
An early morning ride up to the mountains, my Royal Enfield pulling us with excellence. What a machine they have made. I own a 411 CC Royal Enfield Himalayan, it rushes to the mountain like those uphills is nothing for it, even with a pillion it never let you feel underpowered.

I used my motorbike so it took me around 3.5 hours to reach up there along with several photography and tea breaks. if you commute from a car it will take around the same or a bit longer as the road after Suwakoli narrows down.
Advisory : During winters you will come accross black ice (frost) on the roads after Suwakoli as it's sun shadow area. One must drive carefully and steady over it.
You can easily cross frost black ice if you follow few things:
1. Drive slow
2. Don't use breaks use engine braking instead
3. Avoid sudden pickup
4. Leave brakes in case of a drift and try to steer
5. If you can't do any of that then I recommend you to come back home 😊.

Things to do in Moriyana Top
This place is an offbeat place where you will not find fancy stors or market.  What you will find there is Peace and beauty of the nature.
However these are few things you can do up there.
1 Enjoy tea from the 4 shops available road side.
2 If you have a bike, there is an off-road trail where you can enjoy some great offroading.
3 Breath in the air with zero pollution and meditate.
4 Trek to Surkunda Devi temple.

Request.
It is a humble request from everyone reading this article. Please dont litter in the area, carry your garbage back with you to the city as the remote location does not have any garbage treatment plant and all waste will remain there for entire life spoiling and polluting the beauty of the place.

Like and comment if you have any questions.
