The wait is finally over for millions of devotees as the portals of Uttarakhand's Char Dham Yatra, comprising the revered shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, are all set to open for pilgrims.

As per news, the gates of the famous Himalayan temples will be opened on different auspicious dates, starting with the holy town of Kedarnath on May 10 at 7 AM. This will be followed by the opening of Sri Badrinath Dham on May 12 at 6 AM, and the sacred site of Gangotri on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya.

The Char Dham Yatra holds immense significance in Hinduism. The journey, which spans from April/May to October/November, sees millions of devotees flocking to the foothills of the soaring Himalayan mountains to seek blessings and attain spiritual enlightenment. Each year, the portals to these revered temples are closed during the winter months due to heavy snowfall, making this auspicious occasion of their opening a highly awaited event.

With the upcoming temple openings, Uttarakhand's Char Dham Yatra is expected to witness a larger influx of pilgrims this year. Ajendra Ajay, Chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee, has announced plans to allocate ample funds for passenger facilities, making it easier for devotees to embark on this spiritual journey.
