A Trip to Kedarnath

Kedarnath Temple is know for its breathtaking view and marvelous architecture as the temple was built a century back,the name "Kedarnath" means "the lord of the field".The temple dedicated to the hindu god Shiva situated in a height of 11,754 ft(approx) on the shores of Mandakini river.

Travelling from Dehradun to Kedarnath took 8-9 hours of travel as it got dark and the roads were not safe for travel we have to hault our trip at Guptkashi.

Day 1

Guptkashi is a religious town of Uttarakhand with mountains and in ancient history this place is famous where god shiva proposed goddess parvati for there marriage.

Apart from that it a houses for ancient temples like Vishwanath temple and Ardhnarishwar temple,Manikarnika kund is also famous where two holy river Ganga and Yamuna meet.

Day 2

Next day we started our trip to Kedarnath from Sitapur,its a remarkable experience with an arduous trek,the complete trek started from Gaurikund to Kedarnath of 16-17km.Earlier it was of 14Km but after the 2013 perilous disaster the routes were changed.It took 9-10 hours to complete the trek.

Day 3

We visited Kedarnath Temple on the very next day and the same day we started our trek back to Sitapur,It took 8-9hours to trek back to our hotel.

After the dhardshan of baba Kedarnath we packed our bags and start our journey back to dehradun from where we started our journey.

Day 4

All together its an unforgettable experience which everyone should once visit to Kedarnath Temple.
