NAINITAL is famous for its namesake eye-shaped Naini lake. The name of the lake signifies a popular mythological story about Lord Shiva. It is believed that he furiously wandered the world with the body of Goddess Sati after her death, and the places where her body parts fell are now considered sacrosanct. The Naini lake is said to be where her eye fell. Due to its religious history, Nainital tourism invites many people of faith into the city from across the nation. Besides religious reasons, the snow-capped hills, deep lakes, and the all-year-round pleasant Nainital weather make it a famous hill station.

It takes 4 hours approx to reach kausani via Ranikhet. It is 116 km far from Nainital you can enjoy the scenery of the routes planes and greenery.
Kausani
Kausani is a sleepy hill town and we parked at the local market โ a cluster of some shops. After tea in one of those, we asked around about sights. Almost everyone recommended the Anashakti Ashram of Gandhiji. Gandhiji had stayed here for a while in 1929 while writing the Anashakti Gita. We hiked up (about 20 minutes) to the Ashram. It was a calm and serene place with a hall full of photographs about various stages of Gandhijiโs life. The view of the valley from there was fantastic and they had a small tower for shutterbugs.
If you want to take the experience of local livings of mountain villages in peace away from rushes you can stay there.
There local food and raita is good.

We captured the superb sceneries which we used to see in our desktop wallpapers.
