It was a planned trip but begins in an unplanned way, seems a bit confusing? I will make you understand.
I said it planned because we all friends have decided that when one of our friend will come we will go for a trip, but when he came it was our exam time so we were worried whether to go or not.
But our courage made us do that and we finally decided to go for a trip and this way it was unplanned, which proves one more fact that to go for a trip, along with money we need one more thing which is "courage" .
Within a day we have arranged bikes and then the journey towards my most memorable trip begins.
We have started our journey from Dehradun in the morning around 10:00 a.m. and from there we had to reach Tehri which is approximately 112 k.m. and it took us 4 hours ride to reach our first stop.
The Tehri Dam is the Highest dam in India and one of the highest in the world. It is a multi-purpose rock and earth-fill embankment dam on the Bhagirathi River near Tehri in Uttarakhand, India. It is the primary dam of the THDC India Ltd. and the Tehri hydroelectric complex. Phase 1 was completed in 2006, the Tehri Dam withholds a reservoir for irrigation, municipal water supply and the generation of 1,000 megawatts of hydroelectricity.
After that we started from there again at 4:00 p.m. and now we have to reach Srinagar(Uttarakhand) which is approximately 90 k.m. from there and it took us 2 hours to reach there.
After a day of riding we finally boarded a hotel for night stay where we had our dinner.
At Srinagar there are alot of hotels where you can stay and it is not even that expensive.
Dhari Devi Temple, Srinagar, Uttarakhand
After beginning there again from Srinagar we first took a stop at Dhari Devi Temple which is approximately 16 k.m. from there. On the banks of the Alaknanda river, the holy temple of goddess Dhari Devi is located between Srinagar and Rudraprayag. This temple is termed as the "centre of faith" for the people of Garhwal.
After that we again started from there. There are so many street shops in the mid - way where you can have food and buy the basic things of necessity.
The Narrow Track of Chopta
Now our actual test of riding began, the roads were narrow and turns were sharp. We were slow over the track as we have the danger to fall off from this narrow track.
Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
Now around 3 p.m. we were there at Chopta, the weather was normal. We started our trek from Chopta to Tungnath temple which was approx. 4 k.m. and it took us 4 hours to complete the trek. If you have any medical problem then go for horses(khacchar) to reach the temple.
We went there with a plan to do camping, so without wasting time we started our search for a place where we can set our camps. There is a lot of space there where you can do camping, all you need to do is just search a suitable place for setting the camp as per the view and oxygen level. The best part is it's totally free, you do not need to pay any cost of space for camping.
The best place to sleep is under the stars and now we are all set with our camps to enjoy the fun and chilling under the open sky. In the evening time, the wind is so cold that without jackets or any woollens it's tough to survive there.

Early morning view of the mountains near the Tungnath temple is just amazing. This view in the morning makes your morning complete and makes you feel extra fresh and energized.
Next day in the morning we started from there for Rishikesh which is approximately 208 k.m. from there.
Don't miss to see the meeting point of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda river at Devprayag while travelling from Chopta to Rishikesh which is in the mid-way, approx. 134 k.m. from Chopta.
There at Rishikesh you can do alot of activities like camping, bungy jumping, river - rafting, and many more. There are vendors available who will make package for you including these activities which is good and you can have more fun in that case. There are shops from where you can hire bikes and plan a trip to nearby places of Rishikesh like Masoorie, Paunta Sahib, Haridwar, and many more .
