About 3-4 hours drive from Delhi is Mathura, the best weekend getaway into the peaceful enchanting place of gods. Mathura, small town on the River Yamuna was transformed into Lord Krishna's place as he was born here. Vrindavan, a village - where Krishna spent his childhood and youth days. Vrindavan is 14 kms ahead of Mathura.
We started our journey late night after supper so that we reach Mathura by 4 to the early morning prayers called Mangala-Aarti. And so did we as planned, were at the gates of the Krishna Balaram Temple. The temple is a Vaishnava temple which is one of the main ISKCON temples. The devotees of Shri Krishna visit here from all around the world. The temple echoes with 24 hour Hare Krishna mantra. Next we visited the Banke Bihari Temple. This temple is said to be established by the guru of the singer Tansen. Later in the day we visited Prem Mandir. Situated in the outskirts of Vrindavan dedicated to Lord Krishna. This complex is quite large spread at 54 acre site. It has some beautiful sightings like the Govardhan Mountain replica beautifully created work. The sculptures showcasing the RaasLeela by Lord Krishna. The temple is completely built of pure white marbles with beautiful craftsmanship.

There is also the Radha Raman temple built around 500 years ago. Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir is an under construction mandir said to be the tallest temple in the world post complete construction. Nidhivan is another very sacred temple with its many secrets enfolded. One being that every night Lord Krishna and Radha come from nowhere and indulge in Ras Leela. There are thousands of plants in the complex which is said to depict the Gopis and a room decorated with loads of bangles sindoor and the doors are then locked. By morning the complete room is untidy with things spread all over the room said to be the results of the Raas Leela that goes in the room every night. Does it give Goosebumps? It did to me. People have a lot many sayings there that they believe. This place is nothing less than a heaven on earth and a must visit to transcend into the spiritual historical past.
