Dudhwa National Park, located in the district of Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, along the Indo-Nepal border, is a wildlife-protected area. It was established in 1977, covering an area of 490 square km.

Home to the dense forest with a diverse range of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and over 450 species of birds. The park boasts 106 royal Bengal tigers, 92 leopards, over 200 wild tuskers, 44 one-horned rhinos, 400 species of birds, five species of deer, various reptiles, medicinal plants and vegetation.

The National Park closed for the season on the 15th of June, marking the end of the 2023 tourist season.

This season around 28000 Indian and foreign tourists visited the national park to enjoy the wildlife, where frequent sightings of tigers, wild beer, elephants, besides other wild species added to the excitement and thrill, as per deputy director Rengaraju Tamilselvan.

What is the entry fee of the National Park?

Jeep safari is the best way to explore the wildlife of Dudhwa National Park. There are five different zones of the park namely Dudhwa, Salukapur, Kishanpur, Sonaripur, and Katarniaghat.

The online safari booking is managed by the forest officials as per the guidelines of India's forest department.

Price (Indian): ₹ 6999 / Per Safari Inclusive Permit, 4X4 Jeep & Taxes (Maximum 6 Persons & 2 Children (b/w - 5 to 12 years).

Price (Foreigner): ₹ 13999 / Per Safari Inclusive Permit, 4X4 Jeep & Taxes (Maximum 6 Persons & 2 Children (b/w - 5 to 12 years).

What are the national park timings?

Morning 6:30 AM - 10.00 AM | Evening 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM (Safari Timing Varies as Season Changes). The park is closed on Tuesdays.

When is the National Park next open for tourists?

The Dudhwa National Park, along with the Kishanpur wildlife sanctuary, is opened for tourists on November 15 every year and closes on June 15 the next year before the onset of monsoon, when all the jungle routes get flooded.

How to Reach the National Park?

Road: Dudhwa National Park is well connected to all major cities via SH 90.

Rail: The nearest railway stations are Dudhwa (4 km), Palia (10 km) and Mailani (37 km), though the most convenient way would be to travel to Lucknow or Shahjahanpur and then reach Dudhwa by road or train.

Air: Lucknow is the nearest airport at 219 km.
