Day 1

My journey to visit the sacred place of Mathura started in Gurgaon. The total travel time was around 3 hours and so I decided to start my day early. I reached Mathura by 9 am.

From the moment I set foot in this vibrant city, I was greeted with warmth and a sense of belonging. The colorful streets, the melodious chants, and the captivating temples embraced me in a world of happiness and spirituality.

My first stop was the Shri Krishna Janmasthan, the sacred site believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna. As I stepped into the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, a surge of emotion overwhelmed me, and I felt an instant connection with the divine. The atmosphere resonated with joyful hymns and the heartfelt prayers of devotees. Standing at the birth spot of Lord Krishna, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of happiness and gratitude. The divine grace that radiated from the idol of Kanha ji was truly enchanting, and I offered my heartfelt prayers, feeling blessed to be in Kanhaiya’s presence.

After spending what felt like an eternity in the temple premises, I went to have some prasad that was being provided in the adjoining area of the temple complex.

Later on, I decided to visit the nearby shops that had beautiful vastra, mukut and other items people buy for their beloved Kanha ji. Mathura’s temples offered a sanctuary for my soul, where I discovered immense happiness and serenity.

After that, I went to the Dwarkadhish Temple which, with its grandeur and architectural splendor, transported me to a realm of divine bliss. The lively atmosphere, the devotion-filled chants, and the intricate carvings depicting Kanhaiya’s playful leelas filled my heart with sheer delight.

My next stop was the enchanting town of Vrindavan, where Krishna’s playful pastimes unfolded. The moment I stepped into the Banke Bihari Temple, I was swept away by the vibrant energy and devotion that permeated the air. The deity of Lord Krishna, adorned with flowers and surrounded by devotees, exuded a divine presence that was both captivating and humbling. I joined in the chorus of devotional songs, feeling an indescribable connection to the divine love that Kanhaiya represents. I couldn’t help but join in the fervent singing and dancing, losing myself in the exuberant celebration of love and devotion. Exploring the lush gardens and serene ashrams, I found solace in the tranquillity and experienced moments of profound introspection. Visiting the Banke Bihari Temple was an experience that filled me with pure joy. The mischievous and enchanting idol of Shri Krishna Ji captured my heart, and the melodious bhajan sung by devotees touched my soul.

I spent hours in the Nidhivan, where it is believed that even today at night Kanhaiya comes to play his famous leela and all the trees come to life to be his Gopiyan. One of the most fascinating things that I noticed in the Nidhivan was that all the trees there were in pairs, intertwined with each other.

Another thing that I found perplexing was that building facing Nidhivan had all their windows sealed shut, as it is said that it is not for the human to witness the leela of Kanhaiya.

After having a day filled with devotion, love, and joy, I went to my hotel for the night.

Day 2

The next day I decided to visit Barsana, the birthplace of Radha Ji, which offered a unique perspective on the divine love story of Krishna and his beloved Radha. As I went up Barsana Hill, the panoramic view of the rolling hills took my breath away. At the Radha Rani Temple atop the hill, I found myself in the presence of the embodiment of love and devotion. Sitting in contemplation, I couldn’t help but marvel at the unwavering faith and dedication of Radha towards Krishna. I witnessed the playful interactions between men and women, symbolizing the eternal love between Radha and Krishna.

There people were sitting in the temple complex waiting to a glimps of thier beloved Radha Rani. The energy, the emotions and the devotion of the people was so strong that you could feel it in the air.

After darshan, I went to have prasad in the temple complex only. I ended up going to a nearby temple that was visible from the terrace. There I spent a couple of hours and as the evening approached, I decided to head back to Gurgaon.

Beyond the temples and holy sites, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Barsana offered a treasure trove of spiritual and cultural encounters. Participating in the evening aarti ceremonies at various temples filled my heart with an overwhelming sense of divinity. Walking along the path of the sacred Keshi Ghat of the Yamuna River, I found solace in the gentle lapping of the water and the sight of devotees immersed in prayer. The local markets, bustling with activity, presented me with an opportunity to indulge in the flavors of Mathura's famous pedas and explore the vibrant handicrafts that reflected the rich cultural heritage of the region.
