Athens ---> Santorini
We booked the blue star ferry which takes around 6 hours to reach Santorini, around 30 euro pp. It was a nice cruise experience but can be avoided if you have sea sickness. Instead opt for a flight from Athens , duration - 1 hour , price around 40 euro pp .
Hotel Check in at Firostefani -
We boarded the bus from Port to Fira and changed bus from Fira to Firostefani . Firostefani is just 5 minutes away from Fira . Bus is the cheapest mode of transportation in Santorini.
After hotel check in , we enjoyed the hot water indoor pool and admired the caldera view in solitude.
Evening time - Explored the nearby restaurants and grocery store for buying the famous Santorini wine and mineral water .
Day at leisure -
A morning walk through the lanes of Firostefani and Fira is a must , this is the time when you can trek the most and click some amazing pictures.
Then use your hotel jacuzzi to give your day a nice refreshing start .
Walk through the Fira market . Explore churches.
Ride the cable car to the port .
Buy some souvenir from local shops and taste the awesome Souvlakis.
Spend the evening relaxing at a sea side restaurant enjoying dinner with your loved one.
Optional tour - The volcano tour , which remains closed during winters .
Rent a scooty. Around 20 - 40 euro per day.
