Athens, Greece was our first of many stops in our Euro tour in 2019.
Me and my friend had planned out to visit 16 cities in 25 days (26 March - 19 April 2019). We took turns booking flights, bus rides, finding good deals for accommodations (hotels, hostels) and tour packages, checked out maps and train systems around the city and scheduled our activities for each place once we got there.

So here we were, fresh and giddy for what's ahead in this journey. Athens was the place we stayed the longest in - 3 nights here. It was nostalgic. The city seemed old - like very old. There were many old establishments and we marvelled at all of them. But technology has certainly caught up with them, too - our experience with public transport (trains, buses, cabs) were all decent and comfortable, and our pocket wifi had good data coverage and we were always connected.

We were supposed to book a trip to Santorini from Athens because we had extra time. But it was a little too expensive and we didn't want to ruin our budget for the whole trip.
And so we went for a day tour to Delphi instead. It was really nice.

I would find out that in 1973, the Miss Universe beauty pageant was held here at the Odeon, where the crown would be won by Miss Philippines.

We visited The Mall Athens before we left.
It would be nice to come back and visit other Greek cities not quite popular with tourists because I know, that's where it gets more fun.
