Weekend getaway to Udupi

After a couple of days of planning on where to stay and what to visit, we headed off to Udupi. Our hotel was booked at Paradise isle resort right in front of maple beach. Udupi is about 220kms from blore and it takes about 6-7hours if you avoid city traffic at Bangalore. We started around 3pm at blore. After Hassan into Sakleshpur the greenary is awesome. Mesmerized by the same we decided to extend our trip by a day and stay at sakleshpur while our way back. The road condition from Uppinangady to Mangalore is bad and it will take you anywhere between 1.5-2.5hours based again on the traffic. We reached udupi around 12 in the night. The resort was very well located right in front of the beach. The staff was not so cooperative I must say as I had to wait for a while for someone to help me unload the car. It took a while for me to get my room keys well.I found out that if you get the right agent to book the room you would get the same room for half the price as well.But apart from these the room was well maintained and the beat thing abt this resort being it has got beat view(beach).Do not take the ground floor room if you choose beach facing ones as ground floor beach facing rooms do not give you a view and they charge you extra for the same.We explore the beach in the mornjng. The day was cloudy and perfect to b around the beach. They hv lot of water sports like para sailing, biking, boating etc. There are boats that go to St Mary's islnd from Malpe. St Mary's island is about 15mins boat ride from malpe. It is a must visit if you goto udupi. Syn set is unforgettable there. The beach is clean. Awesome pl to be at.After a well spent time at St Mary's, we chose to go to shri Krishna temple at udupi. We went there just before the close time and didn't fine any queue. We had a good darshan of lord.We had our dinner at attil's, a fine dine place.We headed back to the resort for the night. Next day we headed to Murudeshwar which is a beach side temple. It is about 100km from udupi and the road condition is average. It takes you about 2hours each side. The beach at murudeshwar is shallow and you can go far inside without being troubled by the waves.We came back the same evening to checkout and head to Mangalore.We didn't have enough time to explore Mangalore except for some ice cream at pabbas(exceptional) and a must visit pl and dry fruit shopping.On our way back we stayed at ashritha in sakleshpur. Sakleshpur was beautiful with its lush green forests. We explored the area a bit before heading back to Bangalore the next day.
