This blog is about my 2 days trip to the City of Lakes-Udaipur.

Udaipur is the most beautiful city of Rajasthan. Also known as the City of Lakes. I visited bhopal many times as it is also known as the City of lakes but I found Udaipur more beautiful and charming.

Being rich in its Culture and Heritage, the thing which attracted me the most is its Stunning Architecture, Rajputana Forts, Beautiful Lakes and Romantic Sunsets.

Day 1

I reached Udaipur in morning at 6:00 a.m. and headed to my hotel located in the old town near Lake Pichola. Hotel offers the mesmerizing view of Lake Pichola from its roof top restaurant and rooms as well.

View from Hotel terrace.

Having eaten my breakfast, I started my tour. The weather was simply awesome in the month of August. It was lush green all around and lakes were almost filled.

Firstly I visited Sajjangarh Palace which is also known as Monsoon Palace, a hilltop residence overlooking the Fateh Sagar lake. Panoramic view of entire city and lakes can be seen from this place. Loved this place.

My next tourist attraction was Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary which is a home for reptiles, panthers, lions, tigers, birds etc.. Overall I enjoyed watching all these.

Then I moved towards my next attraction which was Shilpgram, A rural arts and crafts complex surrounded by Aravali mountains. You will get to see the lifestyle of tribal people of Rajasthan, Rajasthani dance which they do with different kinds of props, shopping market where you can get traditional jewellery, clothes, arts and crafts decoration items etc..

I was quite tired, after visiting all these places. I directly went to my hotel, had lunch, took some rest.

Then I went to Saheliyo Ki Bari which is also one of the popular tourist attraction of Udaipur has a beautiful garden, fountains, a lotus pool and marble elephants. I visited this place in my childhood too so I got some flashbacks.

Got some really good display pictures from this beautiful place.

To enjoy the beauty of sunset, I visited Fatehsagar Lake which is an artificial placid lake. Peaceful place surrounded by Aravalli hills.

Don't forget to visit the Chowpatty near to this lake. There are many fast food cafes and restaurants where you can sit and eat and enjoy the serene view of the lake.

Cold coffee was really good.

And at last I had my dinner at Santosh Restaurant famous for its Dal, Batti, Churma and headed to my hotel.

Day 2

Started my second day trip with Karni Mata Temple visit which is a Hindu temple located near the Doodh Talai lake. One can take the ropeway to the temple from the rope way station.

View from Ropeway.

On reaching the top to the temple, one can have a panoramic view of lakes, city palace, jagmadir and city. Also there are many rates in the temple and it is believed that one must feed this rates for good fortune.

After visiting Karni Mata temple, I took a boat ride to The Jag Mandir which is an island in the Lake pichola. I was completely overwhelmed by the beauty of this place. Surrounded by Aravalli mountains, This place is an architectural gem and it is also partly converted into hotel and the experience of boating was really heartwarming.

Will suggest to everyone a boat ride to jag mandir as it is bit costly but seriously its worth every penny.

City palace is one the architectural marvels of Rajasthan located on the banks of Lake Pichola. Built completely with marble and granite, it also has beautiful mirror and silver work.

I also visited Bagore ki haveli muesum and Gangaur Ghat, walking distances from City palace.

I ended my trip with shopping at Hathipole market which is a great shopping market of Rajasthani handcrafts and folk arts.

Don't forget to bargain here don't miss delicious street food.

So, That's all about my Udaipur trip. My experience was amazing. Udaipur is romantically beautiful city. Will love to visit this city again.
